History
Over the past 15 years, the School for Young Talent of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague has had regular contact with various partner schools in Europe. These schools all combine primary and secondary school with a specialist preparatory track in music education and training. In doing so, students are well prepared for international higher music education and a future career in music at e.g. conservatories or Musik Hochschule. The contact was often of an incidental nature: a short exchange, a joint tour, an exchange of expertise or a conference.

On March 24, 2017, the School for Young Talent celebrated its 60th anniversary and invited 8 other European schools to give an anniversary concert in The Hague, attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix. Just before the concert, 9 schools signed a covenant to further expand the cooperation.
On October 31, 2018, our organisation was formally founded under the name Young Music Talents in Europe (YMTE).
